Do you do the shoring as well as the excavation?
Yes — that’s our advantage. We self-perform bored piers, shotcrete and shoring in-house, so the excavation and retention are one coordinated package under one contractor. Most excavation-only firms have to subcontract the retention, which adds interfaces and risk.
How deep can you go?
We design and construct basement retention with a qualified engineer for each site. Deep excavation and shoring are always engineer-certified to the specific ground conditions and retained height — we scope every basement individually rather than quoting a blanket depth.
How much does basement excavation cost per cubic metre in Melbourne?
For the dig, as a guide (indicative, ex GST): bulk excavation with cart-away runs about $45–80 per m³, depending on material and tip distance. Breaking or ripping rock adds about $25–50 per m³ on bulk jobs, and small tight-access rock jobs run about $150–400 per m³. Retention — piling, shotcrete and capping beams — is engineered per site and quoted on request.
